Boko Haram captives rescued
Nigeria’s military said on Thursday it had rescued 63 people after dislodging Boko Haram Islamists from villages in the country’s restive northeast.

At least five Boko Haram fighters escaping through Sabsawa axis of Sambisa forest have been confirmed dead and several others injured in the early hours of today, March 4, following an attack by troops of 21 Brigade Bama, under 7 Division of the Nigerian Army.

Alhaji Modu, a local politician from Abadam, said that the northern Borno area and particularly the Chad basin area has plentiful fish and food that have been sustaining the Boko Haram fighters. It promised those who give themselves up voluntarily that they will be rehabilitated through a de-radicalization program.

A military source was quoted to have said: “Boko Haram made an attempt [on the installation] but we repelled it killing five of them”.
