Boko Haram fighters kill two Niger soldiers, wound four in ambush
Spokesman Manzo Ezekiel said that the bomb in Kuje went off near a police station while the one in Nyanya detonated in a crowded area not far from the site of two blasts in April and May past year that killed at least 90 people. Boko Haram is stepping up attacks against civilians as the Nigerian military has begun seeing success in fighting them, according to Al Jazeera.

Violence from Boko Haram’s six-year insurgency has left almost 20 000 people dead and 1.4 million displaced from their homes.
The Permanent Secretary has however appealed the residents of the Federal Capital Territory to be more vigilant and report any suspicious person (s) or movement (s) to the law enforcement agents. At least 41 people were wounded, Datti said.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
Nigeria’s military on Thursday also accused Boko Haram of poisoning water sources in the northeastern Nigeria.
Witnesses and security sources said a few of the girls were as young as nine.
In a separate incident, residents say five people were killed earlier Thursday by suspected Boko Haram militants in Kirchinga, a village in Adamawa state, which borders the Sambisa forest, a Boko Haram hideout.
A statement by the FCT Deputy Director, Press, Mohammed Sule, on Saturday, said the permanent secretary also sympathised with the injured and described the wanton destruction of lives and property as “heartless and an act of wickedness on soft targets, which has no place in our history and tradition”.
