“We are being extremely careful because the situation has been compounded by the split in the leadership of Boko Haram”, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Nigeria’s Minister of Information of Culture, said in an online statement.
Ahmad Salkida, the Nigerian journalist declared wanted by the Nigerian Army over Boko Haram’s latest video, on Monday said he had commenced preparations to return to country to honour the invitation.
Boko Haram, which previous year pledged loyalty to the Islamic State militant group, has kidnapped hundreds of men, women and children.
“We are nevertheless studying the video clips to examine [whether] the victims died from other causes rather [than] from the allegation of airstrike”, he said.

The man also claims that some of the girls were killed in recent airstrikes performed by the Nigerian government. About 40 of the girls have been married off, the masked man said.
Madam Oby Ezekwesili, who is a founder of Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) organization, says that this group can go to the Presidential Villa every day if it is necessary in order to rescue girls.
About 10 other girls had been recognised in the new video, according to the Bring Back Our Girls campaign.
Meanwhile, parents of some of the abducted school girls say they feel wounded after watching a video posted by the Islamist militants today, showing their daughters. They accompany ground raids that authorities say have freed thousands of captives, though none of the Chibok girls, who are thought to be held deep in a forested area.
In the background, several girls look visibly distressed and dab their eyes. She is veiled in the video.
“He goes on to express his happiness that his daughter is still alive. “[I feel] very happy because I didn’t know I would ever see her again.
“We are not going to let up until this government acts”, said Oby Ezekwesili.

“What I want to tell my parents and the federal government is that the federal government should please release Boko Haram members in custody of security agents so we too can be released”, she said.
