Two poaching cases were filed against Khan and he was convicted by a lower court and sentenced to jail terms of one and five years respectively. However, the government has made a decision to move to the Supreme Court to fight against this verdict of the High Court to get the proper judgement in the hit and run case. “Don’t tell me it was Bhai’s driver again!”, tweeted one user, referring to Khan’s 2002 case in which his auto drove over a pavement dweller, who died. On Monday, Justice Nirmaljit Kaur, while allowing the actor’s appeal, acquitted him of all charges. He added, “We argued that we were not given the opportunity to cross-examine the eye witness and the forensic reports doesn’t implicate Salman Khan directly and can not be treated as evidence”. Earlier, the actor was even put behind the bars in regard to the same incident and recently, the state High Court declared him innocent as neither there were evidence to prove his acts nor were the animals which were found dead were shot by his licensed gun. In its reply, the prosecution counsel K L Thakur had argued that Dulani was present in the court twice but the defence did not examine him.
As a community, Bishnois love wild animals and protect chinkaras, black bucks and deer among others. “Thank you god for always showering us with your grace and blessings”.
Rajasthan’s Forests and Environment Minister, Raj Kumar Rinwa said, “We will study the court order today and then the forest department along with the law and home departments will decide on the appeal in this case”. “This wouldn’t have been possible without you”, Arpita said.
“Thank you for your prayers and support”, the “Wanted” star wrote.
Well, the actor who has not budged a bit from the headlines in last couple of months is free of tension right now and is all set to commence the shoot of his upcoming film Tubelight to be directed by Kabir Khan.
Khan still faces a separate case of using unlicensed firearms to shoot black bucks, a protected species of native antelope, in Rajasthan.
