“Yes, this is the last Olympics for sure”, Bolt said during the press conference.

That is irrelevant to Bolt, for that is what he wants most from his last Olympics. “I have done everything and have proven myself”, which is a good time to call it quits since he will be 33 at the next Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

In Rio for the Olympic Games, the 100m and 200m world record holder made an unforgettable exit from his press conference, dancing his way off the stage with a bevy of Brazilian beauties.

“[I’m] definitely a sprinter first, but I like to entertain because that’s what people come out and see”, he said at the packed media event in Rio. “So until somebody beats him, until somebody puts him in his place, he’s going to continue to do what he wants to do”, said Rodgers, who himself failed to qualify for the USA’s 100m team here, but will feature in the 4x100m relay. “We have had a few rough years, but I think in a few years, the sport will be clean and everything will be great”, Bolt said.

For one final time, this was after all his show – the news conference, yes, but also these Olympics – and Jamaica’s charismatic, uber-talented bolt of lightning intends to dance until it’s time to leave the stage. “In life nothing is guaranteed“, he replied. “I have always wanted it”. “Michael Johnson’s world record lasted for 12 years, until Usain Bolt ran 19.30 seconds to win gold at the Beijing Olympics”. “The bend was awful”. and he just went on until I was depressed”.

He confirmed it would be his last Olympic Games and has made bettering his 200m world record of 19.19 seconds a top target, although he admits it wilI be hard.

“So, for me, if making a statement is going to help the sport, then I will support it because this is what I do”.

“I feel like it’s a cop-out”. [They said] they were like just trying to make the headline seem very… just trying to make it seem like you’re going to shock the world and I said okay cool.

“I was volunteering during the 2012 Games, something I’d secured through the athletics” club I was a member of at the time – one of my main jobs was carrying equipment boxes for the athletes.

The athletics events in Rio begin on Friday 12 August, with Bolt first in action in the 100m on the Saturday, before the final on Sunday. Justin Gatlin from U.S. will be a big challenger for Bolt at the games in Rio.

“Usain Bolt you’re my favorite guy / I’m loving your moves, and your feet, and your style”, rhymed Nicolay Ramm, 27, in front of hundreds of reporters. “I personally think we are on the right track and I think we should have faith”, said Bolt.
