“For me I felt it was a joke, I felt it was a disrespect they think I’d back out of a trials”, said Bolt. “So, I came out here today to make myself feel better”.

“Right now I need to make the team in whatever way that looks like”, she told the AP after finishing a disappointing seventh in the 100-meter backstroke, where she took a gold medal in 2012.

Bolt won gold in both the 100m and 200m at the London and Beijing Olympics, and will defend both titles in Rio Olympics next month.

Bolt had received a medical exemption to miss the Jamaican trials – sparking claims from Gatlin who said he got preferential treatment which he would not receive were he American.

‘He’s injured, gets a medical pass, that’s what his country does. 15 second earlier than the second placeholder Panama’s Edward Alonso.

The 200 metres is the event that Bolt values above all others, and he believes he can run faster than the 19.19 world record time he set at the world championships in Berlin in 2009.

She clocked 12.20, to beat a 28-year-old world record, while Jessica Ennis-Hill had to settle for eighth in 13.04s after clattering a hurdle. But her finished appeared much quicker and was corrected to 12.20 seconds, one hundredth of a second faster than Donkova’s record 12.21 seconds.

Bolt again said that was his plan Thursday but his mind may not be completely made up as, in conversations with selected media in the English capital this week, he suggested that he could be coaxed into competing in Tokyo in four years’ time. He withdrew himself after winning the semi-final.
