The US team were forced into a solo re-run of their qualifier on Thursday, having overturned a disqualification for a dropped baton exchange between Felix and Gardner.
“It’s mixed feelings. It’s a relief, because it’s really stressful, I’ve had injury problems, but I’m also sad that I have to leave, this is my last one”.
“I am just relieved”.
Gay, part of the United States 4×100 team that was disqualified in Friday’s final, held out hope that with Bolt’s pending retirement, he would have a chance at gold in Tokyo in 2020. “I’m just trying to put my best foot forward for all those soldiers who are watching”.
Felix had been bumped in the preliminary heats and lost the baton, but the USA team protested and got a second chance – a solo re-run that allowed them to qualify based on time. My muscles, I’ve never had them shake and just give out like they have been …
Rio de Janeiro – Twin titans Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps have mined a trove of Olympic gold, changed the sporting landscape and left a huge hole that starts in Rio and goes around the world.
With most of the other debates over about greatest this, greatest that, a new one might be whether Bolt has surpassed Marley as the most famous person from the country known for sea, sun and sprints.
Jady Duarte, 20, appeared seemingly next to Jamaica’s “triple triple” legend in a series of WhatsApp pictures showing them cuddling in a bed.
