Bolt returns from injury to win 200m in London
The British 4x100m women broke the national record in the very first race before Kendra Harrison, who did not even make the American Olympic team, broke the 100m hurdles World Record which has stood since 1988 in 12.20sec of greatness.

Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt has hit back at Justin Gatlin, accusing the American rival of “disrespect” ahead of next month’s Rio Olympics.
Bolt has since lived with, and confounded, the injury narrative ahead of two major championships – a sore hamstring hampered him before London and a back problem similarly limited his outings before the 2015 world championships.
“But over time I’ll be fine, I’ll just keep doing the work. Fingers crossed I’ll do my best and hopefully we see a medal”. That didn’t happen, but I was in good company out there.
“I wanted to come out here and do what I know what I could have done [in Rio]”, she said.
“I think the 100, for me, is always going to be harder because it’s so technical”, Bolt explained.
Incredibly, Harrison will not be at the Rio Olympics, having finished sixth in the USA trials earlier this month, with only the top three qualifying.
She clocked 12.20, to beat a 28-year-old world record, while Jessica Ennis-Hill had to settle for eighth in 13.04s after clattering a hurdle.
Brianna Rollins (12.57), Kristi Castlin (12.59) and Ali Nia (12.63), all Rio-bound after finishing 1-2-3 in the United States trials, were left trailing by Harrison on this occasion. “It’s all about me getting a good start and executing right and stuff like that”. I wasn’t that impressed.
Matt Hudson-Smith claimed an impressive 400m win in 45.03 after Martyn Rooney, who will be one of the British team’s most experienced athletes in Rio, was disqualified.
The only time she has run quicker was en route to London 2012 gold in 12.54.
But calling it a season was not the answer, she realized. “I was really heartbroken”. But with three weeks to go before the 100m final he has plenty of time to sharpen up.
Usain Bolt replied to Robyn, and his four million followers, to say “My pleasure”. It’s Kelly Holmes Olympic gold medal record. It’s great to have.
Adam Gemili ran a season’s best before insisting he was capable of bringing home a medal from Rio this summer. “But to get the record along the way is one of the biggest achievements of my career”.

Her initial struggles, and the list of stellar swimmers who will not attend the Rio 2016 Olympics at all, prompted questions about whether some sports’ USA trials exceed the Olympics for intensity.
