Bolt won the 200 meters in London

With dark clouds hanging over the Olympic Games, Usain Bolt is ready to light up Rio 2016.

After his pullout from the 100m final at the Jamaica Trials last month due to a hamstring strain, his fans were naturally concerned.

Bolt won gold in the 100 and the 200-meter sprint in both 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Olympics.

It was Harrison’s second record-breaking performance of the year.

“I just kept saying that over and over again”, Harrison said.

“I’m not fully in shape”.

“I’m feeling good and happy I could run and finish the race without any injuries”.

Harrisson, however, WILL NOT be running in Rio-a testament to the super competitive U.S. trials where she finished sixth. He is trying to win three consecutive gold medals in the 100 meters, 200 meters and 4 x 100 meter relay.

Usain Bolt is back in business.

But what has not altered is Bolt’s supremacy on this track, and in his sport.

British heptathlete Jessica Ennis-Hill finished last in a time of 13.04.

“My coach always says ‘Usain, you can always go onto the 2020 Olympics if you want to, ‘” he said when asked by ESPN what would convince him to train on until Japan.

Bolt added: “You never know what will make me continue but I’m also going to take it a year at a time and we’ll see how I feel and if I can motivate myself to go one more year, why not?”

Ruth Beitia took victory in the women’s high jump to extend her lead at the top of the Diamond Race.

The time ranks her second in the world this year, making her a medal contender in Rio. “I think it’s harder for me to defend, because the rest of the guys have had four years preparation to try and beat me”.

The best British performance of the night came from Laura Muir, who broke Kelly Holmes’ national 1500m record with a hugely impressive run. “It’s great to have”.

“Amazing run”, tweeted Holmes. “Records are there to be broken“.

The women’s quartet of Asha Philip, Desiree Henry, Dina Asher-Smith and Daryl Neita kicked off the London Anniversary Games with a superb demonstration of speed.

Britons Emily Diamond, Seren Bundy-Davies and Anyika Onuora were seventh, eighth and ninth respectively. Knew u could do it u have been running so well this year!

“That 12.40 (in the heats earlier on Friday) got my confidence back. Now, I prepare. The race is in two weeks and I’ll see you in Rio”, Vicaut told Reuters.
