Bolton Wanderers Fail To Pay Players Wages
Neil Lennon’s squad have not received their wages for November as the club are now £172.9 million ($260 million, 246 million euros) in debt and desperately seeking fresh investment with owner Eddie Davies no longer willing to bankroll them.

“This is due to the ongoing situation surrounding the club’s ownership off the field”.
It had been a busy day for both clubs off the field with Brentford hiring Walsall manager Dean Smith to take over from interim coach Lee Carsley, while Bolton confirmed they had failed to pay their players for the month of November.
The Championship (second-tier) strugglers’ players were not paid in November and met Birch on Tuesday.
A consortium led by ex-Bolton striker Dean Holdsworth is among those who have expressed an interest in acquiring Bolton.
“I’m disappointed not to have won it, but happy that we reacted very very well to going a goal down – under the circumstances I don’t think we could have asked much more of the players”, he said.
“We are continuing to negotiate with interested parties but unfortunately no one party has demonstrated all the requisite elements needed to conclude a deal”, said Birch, who is leading the negotiations after chairman Phil Gartside fell ill.
Now rock bottom of the Championship, Neil Lennon’s men battled for a point against Brentford over the weekend but are still four points shy of safety.
Trevor Birch, an adviser to the Bolton board and owner, said: “This is due to a short-term funding issue”.
Wanderers supporters attempted to roar their team on and they came close to an equaliser through Shola Ameobi’s effort from distance, brilliantly pushed over by David Button, and Liam Feeney’s chip into the goalkeeper’s arms.
