A number of people are injured, including two tourists whose nationalities are unknown, Srisopacharoenrat said.

According to police report, the two bombs in Hua Hin went off almost half an hour apart at Fa Pha Intersection and Soi Bintabaht, which are home to numerous bars and restaurants frequented by foreign tourists.

The bombs are said to have been 50 metres and 30 minutes apart.

Hua Hin, on the Gulf of Thailand southwest of Bangkok, reportedly has been a popular destination for British travelers.

No group has claimed responsibility so far.
