The bombing left some staff members burning inside the vehicle, another employee said, adding that the bus was mostly filled with behind-the-scenes workers from the channel’s graphics and dubbing departments.
The explosion sent black smoke billowing into the sky, with emergency services rushing to the scene. Tolo TV confirmed in a live news broadcast that the bus was Kaboora’s.
No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the attack so far which comes amid soaring Taliban-led insurgency in the country.
The insurgents said at the time that the stations had broadcast reports about their activities during a siege of the northern city of Kunduz that they said were inaccurate, and threatened unspecified consequences. Envoys of Afghanistan, Pakistan, China and the United States met in Kabul this week to lay the ground for a negotiated end to 15 years of war, and urged the Taliban to join peace talks.

The Taliban has stepped up attacks on government and foreign targets in Afghanistan this winter, when fighting usually abates, underscoring a worsening security situation.
