Montgomery County Police have charged a student at the school as a juvenile with making a false statement regarding a destructive device.

The first happened Friday afternoon at Clinton-Massie High School, Baker said. Montgomery County Police and Blair’s security team searched the building but no suspicious object was found.
As of 10 a.m. students had been relocated to the football stadium stands and police officers could be seen blocking entrances to the school. “Fire and rescue will respond to determine if they should search the building”, Johnson said. The students were sent home by buses just before 4 p.m. The student was released to the custody of his or her parents, he said.
“It wasn’t a hand-written note”, Alvarado said.
Several other schools across the United States received similar bomb threats via fax Tuesday, and schools in Canada Wednesday as well, causing mass evacuations across North America the past two days. Authorities do not believe that there is an immediate danger to students at this time, however MPD is still investigating.

The juvenile, whose gender wasn’t released, was charged with a count of making a false statement concerning a destructive device, a count of making a threat to explode a destructive device and a count of making threats of bodily harm that disturbed school classes and activities, Officer Rick Goodale said. Based on the information they gave me, I made the decision to evacuate the building because I have 3,000 kids to worry about.
