Bomb threat made at East Millsboro Elementary School

State Police spokesman Gary Fournier says students went into lockdown, moved to a cleared area in the school and then were evacuated.

The call came in just before 10 o’clock this morning; students are sheltering in place until buses arrive to take them to Millsboro Middle School. According a post on the district’s Facebook page, the threat “has been made to the district, and all students are being evacuated”.

Dover Police are on the scene of a reported bomb threat at William Henry Middle School on Carver Road.

In Delaware County, social media and online reports indicate schools in the Chichester School District also were targeted.

A number of schools in several states in the Northeast received threats of violence Tuesday.

Officials say the affected buildings include the Boothwyn Elementary, Hilltop Elementary, Linwood Elementary, Marcus Hook Elementary, and the Chichester Middle School and Chichester High School.

At Long Neck Elementary in Millsboro, Del., a person using what sounded like a computer-generated message called and said he was armed on the roof and threatened to harm students and faculty. Searches at those schools also found nothing.

Edward Truitt, Delaware County’s emergency management director, says the district has been dealing with multiple threats the past few weeks. All schools were inspected by police and determined safe around 2 p.m., police said. The school was placed on lockdown, and police ultimately cleared the school as safe.

According to our sister station WNYW in NY, several schools in Northern New Jersey dealt with threats of shootings and bombs Tuesday morning.
