Bomb threat that diverted WestJet flight deemed ‘non-credible’
A WestJet flight en route from Vancouver to Ottawa has been diverted to Thunder Bay because of a security incident.

The stop was made at the request of Transport Canada, after the RCMP received information of a possible explosive onboard the plane.
125 passengers and the crew from Westjet flight 142 were safely escorted off the aircraft.
The investigation has now been turned over to local law enforcement and authorities have deemed the threat as non-specific and not credible. The Ontario Red Cross was on the ground in Thunder Bay to provide comfort and care to passengers as they waited for their flight to resume.
Robert Billard’s 14-year-old son was on the flight, and says he got a text from the teen as the plane was descending into Thunder Bay.
The airline said all passengers will be put up in hotels for the night. “I’m OK right now”.

According to a Twitter post, the passengers were told to leave their belongings on the plane and leave with their hands over their heads.
