Bomb threats called in to Murphy, Davidson high schools

Police have charged two juveniles in a Monday bomb threat at North Side High School.

Police say anyone who calls in a fake threat could face criminal charges, or even jail time. The school was evacuated while the proper authorities evaluated the buildings.

Jackson Police Department said the school received two phone calls on Monday that threatened them of a bomb in the school.

Students are allowed to return to campus to get their cars.

Chief Johnson said the rumor is vague and did not include direct threats toward any individuals.

Athens City Schools officials said students were taken to the the football stadium.

“I think everyone realizes the situation, and our job is to keep the students and staff here safe, and do everything we can to assist that”.

According to Mobile County Public Schools, bomb threats were the reason for the evacuations of Murphy and Davidson High Schools.
