Bombing in Bahrain kills two policemen
“A terrorist bombing targeted policemen on duty in the Sitra area, resulting in the deaths of two of them and seriously wounding a third”, BNA said, citing a tweet from the Interior Ministry.

Shiite-led protests since 2011 demanding reforms in the Sunni-minority ruled Gulf kingdom have sparked clashes with security forces in which at least 89 people have been killed, human rights groups say.
The Interior Ministry described the bombing as a “terror blast”, and said it took place in the largely Shiite community of Sitra, just south of the capital, Manama. It continues to face low-level unrest more than four years after a Shiite-dominated opposition movement took to the streets to demand greater political rights.
On Saturday the country recalled its ambassador to Iran after the government said it had foiled a plot to smuggle arms and explosives by two Bahrainis who had links to Iran.
Police linked the smuggling attempt to Iran.

Announcing the arrests, the ministry said the two suspects had admitted receiving the shipment of explosives, automatic weapons and ammunition from Iranian handlers outside Bahrain’s territorial waters.
