Initially charged with attempted murder of police officers, he was held on $5.2 million bail.

Two cell phones used in the bombs were shipped to a Perth Amboy, New Jersey, store located about 500 meters from a residence listed on Rahami’s 2012 passport application as home. Investigators searched the building on Monday, Bollwage said.

Following the arrest of Ahmad Khan Rahami, the suspect for the explosion which happened in Chelsea, New York City, and injured 29 people on Saturday, police are still investigating the motive for the attack.

According to the criminal complaint, Ahmad Khan Rahami faces charges of use of weapons of mass destruction, bombing a place of public use, destruction of property by means of fire or explosive, and use of a destructive device during and in furtherance of a crime of violence.

The journal appears to plot the terror attacks, referring to “pipe bombs” and “pressure cooker bomb … in the streets they plan to run a mile”.

” ‘Two years ago I go to the F.B.I. because my son was doing really bad, O.K.?’ he said”.

Another excerpt reads: “The sounds of the bombs will be heard in the streets”. Gun shots to your police. “Death to your OPPRESSION”, the journal ended. At the time, he said, the consulate advised Rahami to travel to Karachi, Pakistan, but Rahami said it was too unsafe.

Prosecutors said the suspect bought bomb-making components on eBay before the attacks. At the time, he was employed by Summit Security, a private contractor.

Officials are trying to understand how and why Rahami, who emigrated to the U.S.as a child, allegedly became radicalized.

Officials say so far they have found no connection between Rahami and any militant groups, including the Taliban or Islamic State (IS). The criminal complaint revealed the bombs in NY were made up of pressure cookers filled with ball bearings and steel nuts.

A MacArthur-led letter from the state’s congressional members asked FBI Director James Comey for a classified briefing on the bombings.

Investigators announced Sunday that they linked Rahami to the explosives through a fingerprint. It was canceled, and no one was hurt.

Nobody was injured in Seaside Park because the the race was late in starting and two attached bombs did not go off. He remains hospitalized. Investigators say Rahami planted two bombs in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood Saturday night.

Other parts of Rahami’s journal praise “Brother” Osama bin Laden; Anwar al-Awlaki, an American-born Muslim cleric and leading al Qaeda propagandist who was killed in a U.S. drone strike in Yemen in 2011; and Nidal Hasan, the U.S. Army psychiatrist who shot dead 13 people and wounded 32 at Fort Hood, Texas, in 2009.

The page includes the phrase “Join us in our New front”. One said he arrived from Afghanistan with his family as a young child.

Authorities revealed his identity on Monday morning.

“Requesting full custody. Defendant has been charged with police attempted murder, and is now under protective services after possible terrorist related activity in NYC”, Ms. Mena, a 26-year-old resident of Edison, N.J., hand-wrote in her application.

The woman added that she did not want Rahami around their daughter, saying ‘I didn’t want him to see my daughter.

Rahami is recovering from surgery related to gunshot wounds sustained during that exchange of gunfire at University Hospital in Newark.

Another Linden officer, Pete Hammer, was released Tuesday.

Her filing doesn’t mention Mr. Rahami’s previous brushes with the law.

The terror charges come after the Federal Bureau of Investigation admitted that they investigated Rahami for terrorism in 2014 following a complaint from his father, but found no link despite alleged acts of violence.

This one starts with Ahmad Khan Rahami, 28.

He stood trial in front of a grand jury but was not indicted.
