After a week of concert cancellations, a bankrupt company and fears that it just wasn’t going to happen, Bon Jovi and the Kings of Suburbia will be performing at Rogers Arena tonight.
The superstar had to scramble to re-book a show at a new venue after complications with a promoter forced the cancellation of a performance in Stanley Park.
He told reporters today that he’s never experienced anything like the mess in Vancouver, which saw promoter Paper Rain Performances file for bankruptcy this week.
The public spat between Bon Jovi’s management and Paper Rain began when the promoter announced earlier this week that the show had been axed due to low ticket sales. He recorded three albums including the smash hit “Slippery When Wet” while living in the city between 1986 and 1992. “Fortunately for us, ours was here and then subsequently a lot of people followed us up to Vancouver to make the records with our production team”. The show is open to all fans who purchased tickets to the cancelled Stanley Park show.
Saturday’s show is scheduled a day after Bon Jovi’s band planned to release an album called “Burning Bridges“, the first without guitarist Richie Sambora.
Jon Bon Jovi has severed ties with his record label Mercury Records after 32 years.
She said that after it was announced the show was cancelled, she hoped her idol wouldn’t give love a bad name.
Jon Bon Jovi is the lead singer of the popular rock band Bon Jovi, who is set to perform in Shanghai in September.
