Books & Company hosting Harry Potter party
Many bookstores (including Chapters in Waterloo) are making an event of the release this weekend of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”, a book written as a two-part stage play by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany and a continuation of the original series. More trivia -same book comes after the 8th book and 5 years after the most recent movie adapted from the book series.

Bookshops are hosting midnight book release parties, as they did for each new novel during the height of Pottermania.
Rowling added she was excited to see the play again as it had been a long time since she walked a red carpet at a Harry Potter premiere, and revealed she hopes the play will travel as widely as possible. The casting of Noma Dumezweni, who is black, as Hermione has raised some eyebrows but has the imprimatur of both Rowling and Emma Watson, who played the role in the films.
Albus actor Sam Clemmett has been a big hit, as has Anthony Boyle as Draco Malfoy’s son Scorpius.
It was always hard being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.
“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” is set to be staged on Broadway.
According to McNally Robinson, the book features an adult Harry Potter grappling with the past and his youngest son, Albus, who is struggling with the weight of his family’s legacy. That was the same spot occupied by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in 2007.
Amazon Books said Cursed Child was already its top US pre-order in print and on Kindle e-book of 2016.

The figures are expected to increase even more by the day as the scheduled release will be on July 31st, the same day of Harry Potter celebrates his birthday.
