“But I don’t think Vards feels the pressure”.

“Now we start the season with a home game”.
He said: “I haven’t seen him (yet) but I will speak with him”.
Leicester’s response to losing their opener has been impressive and they have looked more like the side that won the league in their last two games. It’s an outstanding job.
“I know it’s hard but we played a really good game against a team like Burnley, but I would say 15 times we missed the last pass”. There are big characters in the dressing room and we have a very good group of players so I don’t see it as reliant on me, or I have to replace Stevie or I have to do this or that. We are the champions. The Reds were one of the few teams to get one over on the East Midlands club side en-route to their shock table topping performance previous year and no one would be complaining if they did the same one more time – least of all Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp. They are still good – all that stuff.
“Why should I now say “that’s the pair for the whole season” and then next week one of these players is injured and I have to say to someone “ok sorry, maybe you read the newspaper, that’s not what I actually wanted to say”!”
“This is our first home game and with 8,000 more in the stadium that’s more power and we should use this”. It’s a wonderful opportunity’.
One player who will not be able to help Liverpool is midfielder Emre Can, who has been ruled out with an ankle injury.
When asked today about Klavan’s fitness, Klopp confirmed that Klavan is unlikely to play against Leicester.
“Now it is about making Mama fit – what he isn’t after this long time with suspension and injury – and we will see what happens”.
Those two will have to be sharp on Saturday – we’ve all seen what the Foxes can do when they’re in the mood.
“Mama knows, and I know”.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted that centre-back Mamadou Sakho does not need to gain his trust despite reports that he would be “banished” from the side by the German.
“I spoke to him before the window closed because that is the moment to make decisions and that is what I did”.
