Border wall’s cost was deemed off limits in Donald Trump’s Mexico meeting
ABC News together with our partners at SSRS survey research firm asked our online opinion panel if they believed Trump would be able to get Mexico to pay for building a wall along the USA southern border.

While he defended Nafta, Pena Nieto also said he was open to revising it, and essentially agreed that there was a serious problem in the border, which some in Mexico saw nearly as an agreement with building the wall, especially when Trump explicitly said that he would go ahead with that.
In an op-ed for El Pais, the Oscar-winning Mexican filmmaker of The Revenant writes that Trump’s meeting with the country’s president was a “betrayal” and “lacks dignity”.
Trump said during a news conference following the Wednesday meeting that he and Nieto had discussed Trump’s proposed wall along the USA southern border but that they did not discuss who would pay for it, CNN reported. But she said the Trump campaign was “very happy” to accept Pena Nieto’s invitation to the candidate. Mr Monty resigned from the council after Mr Trump’s speech.
“Standing beside Nieto, graciously complimenting him and speaking warmly of Mexico and its people, Trump looked like a president”.
While the government friendly press will try to put a positive spin on this, the summit is being widely criticized in Mexico, and will do little to help Pena Nieto politically.
Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani said the Big Apple would be rotten if he hadn’t been elected mayor. “He fooled him (Pena Nieto)”.
Conway acknowledged that Trump and Mexico’s president “disagreed” about some of what was said at their meeting.
Analysts at Stratfor painted this picture of the difficulties that Pena Nieto already face heading into the 2018 presidential election. “But I think Mr. Trump clarified very clearly when he got to Arizona later in that day that he will build that wall”, said Conway.
Asked if Trump should apologize for the false birther conspiracy theories Giuliani didn’t think so: “You know if everybody apologized for all the things they said in politics all we would be doing on television shows is apologizing”.
Donald Trump’s controversial trip to Mexico on Wednesday was met with anger and harsh criticism among both Hollywood and prominent Mexican figures.

Jason Mills, the campaign’s senior communications adviser, said in a statement on the campaign website that the meeting represented “the first part of the discussion and a relationship builder” between the two sides.
