Borussia Dortmund dispatch Freiburg to join Bundesliga leaders
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang marked his 100th Bundesliga appearance with a customary goal as Borussia Dortmund beat Freiburg 3-1 to continue their winning run. The hosts finally made the breakthrough on the stroke of half-time when Aubameyang slid in to meet Ousmane Dembele’s pass for his 59th Dortmund goal.

In fairness though, Dortmund could have scored more with Turkey wideman Emre Mor, making his first league start, clipping the bar with a deflected effort and Aubameyang also hitting a post.
Borussia now has 12 points from five matches, tied with Bayern Munich, which plays this weekend.
Dortmund were on fire at the start of the second half and Piszczek’s second goal in as many games rounded off five minutes of nearly relentless pressure. “But it’s great to have pulled it off, especially after three big wins in a row”.
Dortmund host European champions Real Madrid in the Champions League next Tuesday.
Aubameyang should have done better when he was sent through with a superb Matthias Ginter pass but the Gabon international’s clever chip sailed just wide of the post on 18 minutes.
Piszczek added another goal eight minutes after the restart with Freiburg firmly boxed into their own half and enduring wave after wave of attacks.

Maximilian Philipp got one back for the visitors with a good finish on the hour mark but Raphael Guerreiro, a second-half substitute for Mario Goetze, secured the points in stoppage time at the end of a fine move.
