Bosh addresses Heat before 1st practice of postseason
The team’s leader spoke of Bosh’s address to the team today about his potential availability for the playoffs, and the sixth-year Heat forward said he “doesn’t have the ability” to rejoin the team as an active player this season, Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press reports.

The Miami Heat heard from Chris Bosh on Friday ahead of their upcoming playoff series with the Charlotte Hornets. A blood clot was found in one of his legs in February, and other than saying that was cleared up Bosh has not offered any updates on his health since.
The Heat star, who has been out since the all-star break after reportedly suffering another recurrence of a blood clot, wanted his teammates to enjoy the experience he won’t be able to enjoy on the floor. “What I wouldn’t do to be out there”. This starts and ends with Goran Dragic. Dragic said part of the meeting involved Heat coach Erik Spoelstra telling each player what their role would be, and then Bosh got called upon to speak. Al Jefferson, who was hampered by a torn plantar fascia in the team’s playoff series with Miami two years ago, says Charlotte’s mindset is much different now than it was in 2014.
Bosh averaged 19.1 points and 7.4 rebounds per game in 53 games this season, his sixth with Miami and 13th overall in the National Basketball Association.
He said he was sitting out All-Star weekend with a calf strain. Whatever James wants to do off the court after the playoffs is his own business, but make no mistake about it, if the Cavs want to be repeat National Basketball Association finalists or even champions, James has to make an enemy of everyone he faces come playoff time. Athletes in contact sports are discouraged from competition while on bloodthinners, because of additional medical risks.

With four teams tying with 48-34 records, it wouldn’t be an upset if the lower seed wins one or both matchups in the middle of the NBA Eastern Conference playoff bracket. Bosh is expected to be on the bench for home games, as he has been for several weeks.
