Boston Marathon bombing survivor killed in Dubai car crash

Two Northeastern University students, one of whom survived the Boston Marathon bombings, were killed in a auto crash in Dubai, the school confirmed Monday.

Victoria McGrath, 22, of Weston, Conn., severely injured her leg at the Marathon. McGrath, a student at Northeastern University, was involved in a fatal vehicle accident in Dubai, with a fellow classmate. The school has identified the other student who was killed as Priscilla Perez Torres.

The survivor, who at the time was a teen, explained that she was comforted by a man named Tyler Dodd after her injury. “Now I’m angry that she’s been taken from us”.

McGrath was near the finish line when two bombs went off on April 15, 2013.

“Life can change in an instant…we know this only too well”.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of 23 year old Victoria McGrath”, the post read. Her death was announced by her alma-mater, Northeastern University. “This is a heartbreaking loss to their families, friends, and to all of us in the Northeastern family”, Aoun said.

“Priscilla came to Northeastern from Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, and was passionate about travel and working on issues related to nutrition and women’s health”.
