The United States Olympic Committee is expected to hold a teleconference with Governor Charlie Baker Monday.

“Obviously we need to know his support for the bid and we need to know Mayor (Martin J.) Walsh’s support for the bid”, said Angela Ruggiero, a Cambridge resident and member of the USOC and global Olympic Committee, who has appeared before the Boston City Council along with Boston 2024 to outline USOC priorities. But that part wasn’t in the version of the bid previously released to the public.

The unredacted bid says the group needed to find an additional $471 million in revenue to support the games, and that it was trying to figure out how to fill that gap. That document claims a $210 million surplus in its operating budget. But he said Monday morning that he will not commit at this time to signing the host city contract should Boston wind up winning the right to host the 2024 Olympics.

Governor Baker has stayed on the sidelines. The USOC would like public support higher if it is going to make Boston the official city it is nominating for the 2024 summer games.

Walsh said he was prepared to let the bid drop if he was forced to sign the contract before he received more assurances.
