Boston police probing fight involving 76ers center Okafor

Boston police say they are investigating a street brawl incident involving the 76ers rookie and a fan that took place early Thursday morning, according to ESPN. It occurred hours after the Sixers lost, 84-80, to the Boston Celtics at TD Garden on Wednesday night. McGuire said the woman provided the bar’s name and address, but by the time officers arrived, “there was no one there”.

At around 11 a.m. on Friday, Boston Police say one of the victims of the alleged assault reported the incident to police.

A Philadelphia Inquirer report indicated this was not the first time Okafor has had a run-in with a heckler in his rookie season.

The victim told officers he suffered a cut above his eye that required stitches.

At this point, police said there are no plans to follow up on the incident unless someone involved comes forward.

He added that he was “still dealing with the league and the team”.

“The embarrassment of what I did because that’s not who I am”, Okafor added. The 19-year-old is averaging 18.4 points and 8.1 rebounds in his first 16 career games and looks to be headed for a solid career so hopefully this is just a minor hiccup. Bayless says that nothing good happens after 2 am (also stated by How I met your mother, which means it’s automatically correct).

Okafor said the embarrassment is the toughest part about the situation.

TMZ posted cellphone video of the altercation on Thursday (https://youtu.be/aAmCcvHHY8M), showing Okafor yelling and later shoving a man outside the club.

A scuffle ensues – people tried to hold Okafor back – but then he escapes and swings wildly at another man … connecting … and sending him flying to the ground. I feel like we’re going to get it done.

“We are all staying together, working extremely hard”, he said.

Okafor told reporters that he fessed up to Sixers coach Brett Brown on the team’s flight to Houston.

“I’m ashamed with what I did and that’s not who I am”, he said.

National Basketball Association team the Philadelphia 76ers have equaled the longest losing streak in major United States professional sports history. I know bars and clubs like these admit underage patrons, because they were doing it when I was in high school and taking recruiting visits to various schools.
