Both California shooters ‘radicalized for quite some time’
The killers participated in target practice at ranges in the Los Angeles area before the shooting, Bowdich said.

Bowdich said that investigators had still not pinpointed a motive, but had reason to believe that both had been radicalized “for quite some time”. In at least one occasion, he said, the target practice occurred within days of the shooting.
The husband and wife were killed in a furious shootout with police hours after they opened fire on a gathering of Farook’s colleagues from the San Bernardino County public health department, where he worked as a restaurant inspector.
This July 27, 2014 photo provided by U.S. Customs and Border Protection shows Tashfeen Malik, left, and Syed Farook, as they passed through O’Hare International Airport in Chicago.
“We are trying to learn everything we can about both of these individuals”, Lynch said on NBC’s “Meet the Press”.
Farook’s mother, who shared a home with the couple and their 6-month-old baby, lived in an isolated part of the house, Chesley said.
The FBI said it was still questioning the grandmother of one of the suspects and was also examining if there was anyone else apart from the suspects – who was involved in financing or pre-planning the attack.
“None of the 14 who perished had a chance”, said Dr. Dev Gnanadev, a member of the 50-physician medical team that responded to the active shooter alert.
The Los Angeles Times reported that Farook traveled to Saudi Arabia a year ago and spent nine days there before returning with a new wife he met online, Malik, who was originally from Pakistan.
In an address to the nation Sunday, President Barack Obama said the attack was an “act of terrorism created to kill innocent people”.
The instructor declined to say how many times Farook visited the range, which is about 20 miles from where the killings took place.
Neighbor Jared Rork said Farook and Marquez would sometimes be seen working on cars and listening to music in one of their garages.
Tashfeen Malik entered the US a year ago after telling authorities she was coming to marry Syed Farook and clearing government background checks.
Federal investigators are learning more about the couple who carried out last week’s deadly massacre in San Bernardino, California. Late Friday U.S. officials told ABC News and other outlets that Malik, using an alias, had published a pledge of allegiance to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi on Facebook right around the time of the attack last Wednesday. The warning, described as a “Level 1 Alert”, gave a date of the would-be attack as Sunday but was not specific about a location beyond naming Los Angeles, according to two US officials who were briefed on the threat.
The Board of Supervisors said all facilities have increased security, including armed sheriff’s patrols, and officials were considering additional permanent safeguards.

Al-Huda said in a statement that it has no links to any “extremist regime” and seeks to promote a “peaceful message of Islam and denounce extremism, violence and acts of terrorism”.
