In all, three in 10 Clinton supporters admitted that they support her in opposition to Trump, while 36 percent of Trump’s supporters claimed the same held true for them when it comes to the former first lady.

Surrogates for Hillary Clinton’s campaign are holding events, press calls and issuing statements in a number of battleground states on Tuesday to highlight comments Donald Trump previously made in which he rooted for the housing market to collapse, a Clinton campaign official confirmed to CBS News. Clinton leads with 46.8 percent, followed by Sanders’s 46.3 percent, resulting in a delegate split of 28 and 27, respectively, if the vote tallies do not change with a recanvass.
“Exactly what’s driving the shift is hard to say”. In this sense, Mrs. Clinton’s proposals and speeches are nearly flawless.
Hillary Clinton has elevated her husband’s status as a surrogate and said this month that, if elected, she would put him “in charge of revitalizing the economy”, especially in impoverished areas of the country. This week, she turned down a request from Bernie Sanders to hold a debate in May, something she had agreed to in the early days of the Democratic Primary when her camp wanted more early debates to help her performance in New Hampshire.
“I think it is a little bit insulting to the people of California, our largest state that she is not prepared to have a discussion with me”, Sanders said. “I also would suggest that Secretary Clinton may want to be not quite so presumptuous about thinking that she is a certain victor”. But Clinton is now backing away from her commitment.
The Vermont senator also said that Clinton shouldn’t be so presumptive about the status as the Democratic, noting his string of recent victories in the states of West Virginia, Indiana and Oregon. The ad urged voters to choose a “new direction” for the Democratic Party.
At a campaign rally Tuesday, Clinton accused Trump of wishing for a financial crash so that he could “make some money for himself”. He estimated his rallies around the state would allow him to speak directly to 200,000 voters before the primary.

Appearing on CNNs “New Day” on Tuesday, host Chris Cuomo asked, “Why go after Bill Clinton, isn’t that bad for Donald Trump?” to which Cohen argued that Trump was “exposing, not just Bill Clinton for what he was and what he had done, but it’s the same as it relates to Hillary”. But they patched things up, and Richardson previous year endorsed Hillary Clinton’s candidacy. She could make gains after winning the nomination, much as Mr. Trump already has. Clinton said if fighting for equal pay, paid family leave, a higher minimum wage and affordable child care is “playing the woman card, then deal me in”.
