Acts confirmed to perform at this year’s BRITs, which will be held at The O2 in London on Wednesday, February 24, include Coldplay, who appeared at Bowie’s 2002 Meltdown at the Southbank Centre, Adele and Justin Bieber.

Performers including Justin Bieber, the Weeknd, Seth Rogen, Will Arnett, Tegan and Sara and former astronaut Chris Hadfield turned to social media Monday to praise Bowie, who died of cancer at 69 a day earlier.

His latest album is a fitting valedictory, because it has allowed Bowie to revisit his experimental roots-with compelling results!

His 1972 album, The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars, now rests at number 19, 1972’s Hunky Dory is at 20, and 1973’s Aladdin Sane sits at 32. She said Bowie was one of the first to elevate TV visuals to a higher level of theatricality through his music videos. The conversation took place about a week before his death, and Bowie wrote five new tracks for the project.

Fashion journalist and TV host Jeanne Beker encountered Bowie several times and interviewed him for both “The New Music” and “Fashion Television”.

Singer Tina Turner is the latest celebrity to pay tribute to Bowie, saying “a piece of my heart has broken”. An icon. Irreplaceable loving friend.

Stars including Sir Mick Jagger, Sir Elton John and Sir Paul McCartney could be among those invited to play.

Honor Louise, who organised the event on Facebook, said: “I can’t believe that happened”.

He continued, “I thought, and he thought, that he’d have a few months, at least”.

“His star will shine in the sky forever”.

“RIP David Bowie”, said NASA, tweeting a link to the 2013 “Space Oddity” version by Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield, sung weightless aboard the International Space Station (ISS). He not only created the world that made it possible for our band to exist, he welcomed us into it with grace and warmth. Funnily enough the Sex Pistols even cite him as well.
