That day at noon, the Flanders native and 2014 Pope John High School SFlbgraduate is expected to start in the first NCAA Division I SFlbcollege football game of his career at wide receiver in the Ohio State Buckeyes’ season opener against Bowling Green.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are looking for a brighter season after they couldn’t get into the College Football Playoff even with a 12-1 record last season. Ohio State played Florida in its last game prior to Meyer taking over from interim head coach Luke Fickell in 2012, and Florida played Bowling Green in 2012 in a game that may have been contracted prior to Meyer leaving Gainesville.
The Buckeyes ran the ball almost two-thirds of the time in 2015, leaning mostly on Elliott, who averaged about 140 yards per game, and quarterbacks J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones.
Samuel had a 92% rushing success rate and three explosive receptions to finish the day with 84 yards rushing and 177 receiving. The early returns are that Malik Hooker is clearly the star that he appeared to be from the spring game, snagging two interceptions, including one of the top highlights of week one. He’ll be in the mix, but I think he could have a less productive season than I envisioned based on how they were talking about him in camp. As an H-Back, last season was not as stunning, but it was certainly one to not just throw to the wayside.

We didn’t get to see much of the defense since they were on the field for 21 minutes, but what we did see was very promising.

“Having that experience of playing against Big Ten opponents has definitely been helpful as we’ve prepared”, Falcons’ quarterback James Knapke said. Meyer has coached four FBS programs over the last 15 years, and this will be his first game against a former team.
Ohio State was a 44-28 victor in their most recent outing at home against Fighting Irish.
