Boy, 5, uses allowance to buy lunch for police
– A five-year-old boy used his saved-up allowance to buy Winslow Township police officers lunch.

But William changed his mind and told his mother he wanted the officers to rest so they could protect the town.
The cops even gave him an honorary shirt and badge, reports WCAU.
William originally wanted to use his money to buy a Power Wheels police vehicle, but seeing that clip apparently got him thinking, according to KYW-TV.

Lt. Dubler with the Winslow Township police said the department has been seeing many acts of appreciation from residents, especially treats being sent to the station.
‘It’s one of those things that restores confidence in humanity. “I can’t wait until you’re old enough so we can hire you”.
‘It’s nice to see that you’re still the good guy’.
Residents have sent in letters with kind words and baked goods.
“I am so proud of him”, Evertz said. He also plans on donating clothes, school supplies and toys to a local domestic violence shelter, food and supplies to a local animal shelter and $25 to a less fortunate family to help them with daycare expenses. “I think it means a lot to him”, she added.
