According to the report, the boy’s parents received a letter asking for their 10 year old son to appear at Liverpool Crown Court to serve on a jury.
Both mother and father left stunned after reading the letter.
But the kid took this mistake very seriously and went to ask for leave at his school.
Jake explained that everyone was laughing at him after he asked for leave on the cause.
Later, it became clear that this all was a mistake.
A spokesman for HM Courts and Tribunals told The Liverpool Echo: ‘If somebody who does not qualify for jury service is summoned they should inform HM Courts & Tribunals Service; they will not be selected to serve on a jury.’
