A boy died Wednesday afternoon when he fell from a pontoon boat and was struck by the propeller near Ocean City, police said.

Authorities in Maryland identified a 9-year-old New Jersey boy killed when he was hit by a boat’s propeller on Wednesday. Maryland Department of Natural Resources police spokeswoman Candy Thomson says the 11-year-old received cuts in the incident, but is expected to recover.
“They fell overboard and they were hit by a propeller”, Thomson told DelMarvaNow.

A 9-year-old boy was killed in a boating accident near Ocean City, Maryland. The 9-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene while the 11-year-old suffered lacerations and was taken to a local hospital.
