Brabus unveils 700 PS Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S Coupe in Dubai

Starting with a stock GLE 63 S Coupe, Brabus has increased the 5.5-liter V8 engine’s displacement to 6.0 liters and replaced the twin turbos with a generously-sized supercharger.

Celebrating a rather appropriate debut at the Dubai worldwide Motor Show, here is the Brabus Rocket 900 Desert Gold Edition. There’s a prestigious Brabus Flagship Store in Dubai, where customers can either buy or order this customized auto. A stainless-steel Brabus high-performance exhaust system and a specially designed intake module that pulls air directly from the radiator grill round out the extensive modifications that allow this bad boy to hit numbers that also include a peak toque of 1,106 lb-ft (Nm).

All of that power is directed to the rear end via a seven-speed automatic transmission and a Brabus limited slip-differential with a claimed 40 percent locking rate.

The turbochargers are enlarged, with larger compressors and larger turbines, while the exhaust downpipes have swollen to more than three inches in diameter.

Dubbed the 700 Coupe, the high-performance model features a carbon fiber body kit that includes a front spoiler lip, air deflectors and a sporty rear diffuser. Its exterior is finished in a special “Desert Gold” finish that is contrasted against naked carbon fiber trim and black 21-inch wheels.

With only rear-wheel drive, quoting a zero to 100km/h figure would be more or less pointless (alright, 3.7 seconds), but Brabus does quote 9.1 seconds from zero to 200km/h.

Brabus crafted black quilted leather seats with gold trimming in this 900 “Desert Gold” Edition.

Earlier this year, the company unveiled a customized Mercedes SL63 at the Geneva global Motor Show that produced similar performance numbers.

The Rocket 900 Desert Gold Edition here is treated with a special “Desert Gold” paint that has been specifically created for this auto. Do the math and it’s clear that this vehicle is meant for only a select few.

The Rocket 900 Desert Gold (the 900 refers to the car’s metric-horsepower rating) scores plenty of aerodynamic and interior tweaks, the former to keep the thing on the road at speed and the latter to remind you what you paid for when driving conditions are more limited than you might like.
