Cops are not investigating Brad Pitt for any type of child abuse and are calling out a report by TMZ claiming they are, an LAPD staff sergeant told The Post.

Brad Pitt is reportedly under investigation for allegedly being physically and verbally abusive with one of the six children he shares with Angelina Jolie. Citing unnamed sources “familiar with the situation”, the gossip site said Pitt started acting erratically and screamed at the couple’s children as they were on a private jet last Wednesday.

The couple have been together for more than a decade and parent six children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne. USA TODAY has reached out to the police department seeking confirmation and is waiting for a response.

Sources say the incident was anonymously reported to child protection authorities by either someone on board the plane or a member of the tarmac ground crew.

TMZ is reporting the LAPD may have their hands tied on this case because the alleged abuse took place while the plane was flying from France to the US.

Jolie separated from Pitt the day following the alleged incident and filed for divorce a few days later.

Jolie filed for divorce on 20 September and asked the judge for physical custody of their children with Pitt allowed visitation rights.

The insider continued, “It’s unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light”. Robert Offer, an attorney for the family, said Jolie’s decision was made “for the health of the family,” according to an Associated Press report.
