The FBI has confirmed it is “evaluating” an alleged incident involving the actor Brad Pitt on a private jet transporting Pitt, his estranged wife Angelina Jolie and their children.
Any airborne incident would fall under the jurisdiction of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), not the police department.
Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services said it could not confirm or deny whether it was investigating Pitt.
Sources claim Pitt, Jolie and their children were on board a flight last Wednesday when Pitt “got wasted”, “went wild”, and started screaming and “getting physical” with the children, TMZ reports.
A source told Mirror Celebs that the FBI is investigating the claims as a jurisdictional issue due to the alleged incident taking place in the air.
The alleged confrontation happened a day before Jolie and Pitt separated, according to a date provided by Jolie in a divorce filing on Monday.
The Hollywood rumourmill spun into overdrive this week with allegations claiming Pitt’s co-star in the new film “Allied” was the cause of the split. This also why she’s fighting for full custody of their six kids with no spousal support.
However, a source with knowledge of the situation previously told PEOPLE that the child Department of Children and Family Services “investigation is absolutely ongoing”. The LAPD’s Abused Child Unit has closed its file on the case and is leaving the investigation to the FBI, according to TMZ.
An attorney for Jolie, Robert Offer, told the Associated Presss Tuesday that her decision to divorce was made “for the health of the family”.

The couple first met when they played married spies in the film Mr And Mrs Smith, when Pitt was still married to Friends star Jennifer Aniston.
