DENVER – Trevor Siemian threw his first touchdown pass of the preseason and tightened his grip on the Denver Broncos’ starting quarterback job in a 17-9 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday night.

Although the Eagles have not confirmed the extent of the injury yet, initial reports are that he suffered a knee sprain and did not tear anything, which is excellent news for the Eagles. Rookie right tackle Le’Raven Clark, starting in place of the injured Joe Reitz, was beaten on two of Luck’s three sacks.
Mewhort, a former second-round pick, had played both guard and offensive tackle in his first two seasons in Indianapolis, and his ability to move within their offensive line made him a valuable asset. On offense that will mostly be the case, as Colts fans can expect to get an extended look at Andrew Luck playing within Rob Chudzinski’s scheme, though the offensive coordinator suggested earlier this week that he won’t show his full hand just yet.
With their offensive line already struggling versus the Eagles, Colts LG Jack Mewhort exited in the third quarter with what NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport calls a season-ending ACL tear.
Coach Chuck Pagano did not confirm the report, saying only Mewhort will get an MRI and “I don’t know the severity of it at this point”.
Indianapolis’ final;preseason game is thiscoming Thursday at Cincinnati. He also did a nice job buying time and finding Tevaun Smith downfield for a 47-yarder, then finished that drive with a nine-yard toss to Trey Willliams.
The offensive line had a frightful night, which you might expect with two rookies and a very inexperienced second-year player starting against a powerful Philly defensive front.
Wentz missed last week’s game and is missing tonight’s after suffering a hairline fracture of his ribs in the first preseason game on August 11th. And he finished the day with staggering statistics: 17 of 20 (85 percent) passing for 167 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. If Luck can stay healthy, I think it’s very likely that he returns to 2014 form.
Indianapolis cornerback Darius Butler, who left the game late in the first quarter with an ankle injury, intercepted Bradford, setting up Adam Vinatieri’s 22-yard field goal with 8:36 remaining in the first quarter. “Our defensive line is putting pressure on the quarterback with four guys”.

The Colts allowed three sacks and six hits of Luck during 30 minutes of football. “Are they going to play defense or are they going to play nickel defense against that?” Ferguson carried four for five with the first unit, and continued to blow assignments in pass protection. Glover-Wright’s rough night got worse on the next drive as Sam Bradford completed all six of his passes for 56 yards, including the four-yard TD to Dorial Green-Beckham over Glover-Wright. Morris completed 7 of 11 passes for 144 yards and a touchdown tonight while also adding a touchdown rush on a quarterback sneak. Josh Huff caught two passes for 60 yards and scored on a 9-yard run. This game really exposed how weak the depth is in the secondary for the Colts. Both players appear to be at least serviceable enough in a starting role; however, neither one figures to be the standout that Mewhort was at the starting left guard position.
