The Seattle Seahawks inked offensive lineman Bradley Sowell to a one-year deal Monday. Paul Soliai, meanwhile, has agreed to terms on a two-year deal with the Carolina Panthers after two seasons in Atlanta, the Associated Press reported, and he will back up another former Ute, Star Lotulelei. One season later he missed half the year due to injury then started at defensive tackle for the Patriots against the Seahawks in Super Bowl 49.

The Seahawks still have a hole at left tackle, but it seems unlikely that they’re calling on Sowell to be a starter. The Seahawks lost linebacker Bruce Irvin (Oakland), Sweezy (Tampa Bay) and defensive tackle Brandon Mebane (San Diego) and re-signed receiver Jermaine Kearse, cornerback Jeremy Lane, defensive tackle Athyba Rubin and punter Jon Ryan. That was the end of his 12 consecutive starts for the Cardinals at left tackle.

That speaks to the relative lack of experience up front for the Seahawks at this point and there will likely be more additions to the mix. He spent just over two months with the Hawks after they traded John Moffitt to Denver to get him in August 2013, only to release him to the practice squad a month later and see him head to New England a month after that. In October 2013 Siliga signed with the New England Patriots. Siliga became a free agent when he was non-tendered as a restricted free agent by the Patriots.
