Brady plays for Patriots, but Giants win preseason finale

In each of the two preseason games Tom Brady played, he did so without the National Football League decal on his helmet.

Tom Brady’s four-game Deflategate suspension officially started yesterday at 4 p.m., but his presence was still being felt at Gillette Stadium today. He played in the preseason finale for the first time since he came in to hold on an extra point in the second quarter of the 2014 preseason finale. If Brady had hurt himself trying to remove a sticker right before a game, that totally seems like something that would piss off Belichick enough to send him home for a couple days. In the women’s race, senior Kimberly Johansen was the top finisher for the Phoenix with a time of 14:16 in the 4K run.

Edelman has been catching passes from Brady since joining the club as a seventh-round draft choice in 2009.

Absent eyewitness testimony from someone who saw Brady remove the sticker or an electronic paper trail (from, you know, Brady’s cellphone) that proves he knew about it and/or did it, there’s no way to disprove the claim that he didn’t know the logo was missing.

49ers 31, Chargers 21: San Francisco rushed for 183 yards and four touchdowns in beating the Chargers at San Diego. It ended at midfield when cornerback Trevin Wade cut in front of Dobson on a quick hook and intercepted. Brady even stunned NY on the drive, scrambling for a first down at the Giants 13.

There were moments to be concerned, like when Brady took a hit in the pocket on the first drive and when Romeo Okwara tackled him on a two-point conversion, causing Brady to hit the turf with both knees. Brady did take a knee on the final snap before the half.

Now we’ve got a pattern – one that started when Brady was still fighting his suspension in court. I have to say, I love that theory. Given the offensive weapons and defensive playmaking ability, the Patriots should win three games in the first month. Giants third string quarterback Logan Thomas threw a 17-yard fourth quarter touchdown pass to Roger Lewis to give NY their 17-9 lead and seal the win. Logan Thomas tossed a 17-yard fourth quarter TD to Roger Lewis Jr. after New England got a 32-yard field goal by Stephen Gostkowski earlier in the quarter, cutting the lead to 10-9.
