“Brutal state repression will only further alienate the Kashmiris, and cause disenchanted youth to pick up the gun”, it said adding, “grandstanding and indulging in cross-border verbal duels” will only make matters worse.

“You are watching that people of Balochistan have strongly reacted against Indian Prime Minister Modi’s statements over Balochistan by coming on roads and taking out protesting rallies”, he added. “Prime Minister was sufficiently moved by these messages of gratitude to share it with the people of India in his Independence Day address”, he said.

He also regretted that blatant violation of human rights is being committed by Indian occupation forces in Indian occupied Kashmir on the defenceless Kashmiris, who are striving for their right to self-determination.

On Wednesday during a press conference here, Jaishankar had stated that Pakistan uses terrorism as a tool for diplomacy.

“He said that his visit should provide the opportunity to receive a briefing from Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary on progress in this regard”, said Swarup.

Swarup said the Simla Agreement of July 1972 and Lahore Declaration of February 1999 have made it clear once and for all to settle all issues bilaterally, rejecting any scope for involvement of global organisations.

“We didn’t ask the people to come out on the streets”.

On the other hand, the American government urged both countries to have a “greater dialogue” to arrest the deterioration in bilateral ties.

He also called upon the UN Security Council to intervene immediately in order to halt the war-mongering Indian prime minister from dragging the region to devastation as well as to uphold sanity.
