Savage says Olivera is waiting to appear before a magistrate and has not been formally charged. He will remain in custody through his court appearance, Savage said.

The winless Braves arrived in the D.C. area Sunday night and are halfway through a four-game series against the Nationals.

Olivera, 31, is in his second season with the Braves. He was acquired in a 2015 trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers after defecting from Cuba.
