Brazil star Neymar: I’ve silenced my critics after Olympic glory

The Barcelona forward struck with a free-kick in the 1-1 draw, before emphatically sealing Brazil’s first Olympic football gold with the winning penalty in a 5-4 shoot-out victory.

After his penalty earned Brazil a memorable triumph, securing the only global honour the country had yet to win, the 24-year-old told SporTV: “Today I have become a champion, and I give up the captain’s armband”.
