Brazilian Police Charge Ryan Lochte With Filing a False Robbery Report
Officials in Rio de Janeiro will summon U.S. Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte to appear before a Brazilian judge.

They requested an indictment also be sent to the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Lochte, 32, along with his swim teammates Jimmy Feigen, 26; Jack Conger, 21; and Gunnar Bentz, 20, had claimed they were robbed at gunpoint by men posing as cops while heading back to the Olympic Village in a taxi on August 14.
Lochte, who lost all four of his major sponsors Monday, picked up a new one Thursday: Pine Bros.
Speedo was the first to drop the 12-time Olympic medalist after he lied to Rio police about being robbed at a gas station with three US swimming teammates.
But Pine Bros said today people should be more understanding and forgiving of Lochte.
Lochte, who flew home to North Carolina after the incident, will testify in the USA and the information will be transferred to Brazil, according to Civil Police.
Ryan Lochte of the United States attends a news conference in the Main Press Center on Friday, Aug. 12, 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.
“I’m confident that Pine Bros fans will support our decision to give Ryan a second chance”, he said.
After the Rio scandal, where Loche declared that he was threatened at gunpoint and robbed after a night out with his teammates, the Brazilian Police charged the professional swimmer. If you would like to discuss another topic, look for a relevant article.
Lochte left Brazil before police were able to question him about the incident.
The Olympian said he took “full responsibility” for the incident in an exclusive interview with NBC’s Matt Lauer on Saturday, adding that he “over-exaggerated” details of the incident.

It’s not a huge brand and it’ll unlikely be a major campaign, but the timing is flawless for the company to get maximum exposure as Lochte dominates the headlines. According to their report, two gas station security guards were the ones who pointed their gun at the swimmers, demanding monetary payment for the damages.
