Three Olympic Council of Ireland (OCI) officials had their passports, phones and laptops seized by Brazilian police as the Games wrapped up on Sunday, following the earlier arrest of president Pat Hickey.

Those who had their passports seized on Sunday morning were OCI Executive Director Stephen Martin, Secretary-General Dermot Henihan and Treasurer Kevin Kilty, in addition to Mr Hickey, who was arrested earlier and is now being held in a Rio prison, pending formal charges.

TheJournal.ie revealed at a press conference on Tuesday that Rio police alleged they had seen email exchanges between former president Pat Hickey and Marcus Evans of the THG Group discussing tickets and ticket allocations as far back as 2010.

“And Patrick Hickey said in the police station that all the decisions were made by the executive committee and these guys are the big guys in the OCI”.

Hickey, a 71-year-old Irishman, is in a maximum-security Rio prison following a police raid last week at his hotel on suspicion he participated the illegal sales plot.

Police in Rio seized their passports on Sunday.

Team leader Kevin Kilty chief and executive Stephen Martin are also expected.

Charged with conspiracy, ticket scalping and ambush marketing, Hickey is accused of plotting with other members of the Ireland committee and two companies to sell tickets above face value in a scheme that authorities say could have netted about $3 million in profits.

He has been told he is free to leave Rio.

Speaking shortly after arriving Mr Kilty denied any involvement in the alleged ticketing scam at the Olympics.

“The terms of reference are being circulated and the judge is due to take up his position immediately”, Ross said.

Hickey was arrested in a dramatic dawn raid on his hotel on Tuesday last and jailed on remand.

PRO10 “served to facilitate tickets for THG, so it could tout those tickets, disguised through hospitality services”, said Mr Ricardo Barbosa, another of the police inspectors.

It will also examine the policies, procedures, processes and practices adopted by the OCI governing the receipt, distribution and sale of tickets allocated by the International Olympic Committee to it for the summer and winter Olympic Games as well as procedures related to allocating accreditation for the Games.
