Breaking Up Is Hard To Do…But Facebook Is Making It Easier
If looking at photos and posts from your ex is getting you down, Facebook may soon have the answer for you.

WHILE the ability to constantly be connected has been one of the biggest advancements of the 21st century, there is one area where you wished none of the technology existed: break ups. That means you can feel free to tag away without being reminded that your ex wasn’t there to share this happy moment with you. This eliminates the awkward situation when users find out that they have been blocked or unfriended by another user. Facebook wants to fix that.
The company announced it’s testing tools to limit how much they see of an ex after they’ve changed their relationship status.
Facebook is experimenting with a new set of tools that’ll make it easier for all parties involved to move forward following a breakup.
What are these tools Facebook?
In light of a few pretty awful breakup stories that users reported to Facebook, the social network is testing new account settings that will allow couples that are breaking up to ignore each other without having to unfriend their exes or deactivate their accounts. The goal is, they said, to help Facebook users end relationships with “greater ease, comfort, and sense of control”. Users will also be able to edit visibility of older posts with a former partner, allowing them to be untagged from posts with that person. You can also view past posts and pictures with the two of you in happier days and untag yourself from those posts.

Currently, these new tools are being tested on mobile devices in the USA, with a roll out expected to follow to the rest of the world based on user feedback, according to Facebook.
