See the incredible footage of a forest floor in Nova Scotia seemingly take a breath, leaving social media viewers in awe.

A video of a forest carpet in Nova Scotia breathing like a snoozing giant is getting a lot of attention online.
He pulled out his cellphone to record the forest floor, which looked like a breathing chest rising and falling every few seconds.
Brian Nuttall captured the phenomenon on his mobile phone on October 30 during a routine walk at Apple River.
There is an explanation for the breathing. I believe the larger trees are doomed to blow down but are now spared, the smaller trees around them help hold each other up, as the wind pushes the trees into one another.
Footage of a mossy forest floor in Canada moving has taken the internet by storm. “It’s likely only a matter of time before the wind wins out and the trees fall”, he added. A few members of the social media site had their own theories, ranging from the sane to the insane like the undead about to appear under the earth on Halloween.
When the wind blows the tree becomes unstable, making the root system move.
Nuttall said that trees on the other side of the hill have already toppled over from the constant wind.

A host of users commented on the video, with one writing: “That’s pretty freaky”. When the trees above sway in the wind, the roots that have detached heave in and out and appear to ‘breathe’.
