Breathtaking Ferrari 488 Spider Debut Film!

The shape of the vents on its rear deck looks different to that on the 458 Spider; no doubt they’ve been designed in such a way as to circulate more air around the car’s force-fed mill. That’s because the new Spider uses the same animal of an engine that power its fixed-roof sibling, the 488 GTB, meaning a biturbo 661hp 3,902cc V8 which catapults it from zero to 100km/h in 3 seconds flat with 0-200km/h taking just 8.7 seconds.

The Ferrari 488 Spider has made its public debut recently at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Beneath the skin, the Ferrari 488 Spider is almost mechanically identical to the potent 488 GTB coupe.

To enrich the superb sound of the JBL PRO system, the Ferrari sports cars will also feature QuantumLogic Surround, which gives audio tracks a controlled sound quality by introducing revolutionary new audio algorithms to extract signal streams and impulse responses from the original recording.

We’ll start with the roof – in what has become a Ferrari tradition, the 488 Spider offers a retractable metallic hardtop (RHT), with the carmaker explaining this is 25 kg (55 lbs) lighter compared to a conventional cloth top.

Complex aero elements have also been implemented around the body. The end result is boost in downforce combined with a reduction in drag-two normally mutually-exclusive objectives. Mated to Ferrari’s F1 seven-speed twin-clutch gearbox, the 488 Spider will get from 0 to 62 MPH in just three seconds – and by the time you’ve been on the gas for six seconds, you’ve gone from idle to the rev limiter in 4th gear.

No mere mild mannered creature of the road, this supercar drives with a poignant purpose engineered with a 3.9 liter turbocharged V8 engine that produces 660hp at 8,000 rpm. This represents a chassis rigidity improvement of 23 per cent compared with the old 458 Spider.
