Breckenridge Brewery sold to giant Anheuser-Busch’s “High End”
Craft beer enthusiasts have rounded on Camden Town Brewery after the business announced it has been bought by Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world’s biggest beer company.

The founder of Camden Town Brewery, Jasper Cuppaidge, reckons this buyout changes nothing: “AB InBev are investing to build a new brewery to our exact standards, so I can continue to make great beer”.
Although specific terms of the transaction were not disclosed, the deal could be valued at about $93 million, according to The Guardian.
Under the agreement, Breckenridge joins The High End, AB-InBev’s unit consisting of a smattering of craft beer brands the giant acquired in recent years such as Goose Island Beer Co., Blue Point Beer Co. and Elysian Brewing Co.
Camden Town, launched in 2010, now employs 95 people having sold 12 million pints in 2015.
The similarities between the two industries is hard to overlook, but time will tell whether the likes of Camden Town Brewery is a Creation Records-style bellweather for the beer scene at large. AB InBev will help provide the investment needed for growth, he said. A big money exit is a big motivator for many entrepreneurs, and Cuppaidge is probably right that AB InBev could turn Camden Town into a “world famous” brewer.
Mr Cuppaidge said everyone who backed the crowdfunding campaign would receive an email with details of the return they will receive following the sale.

It has not been revealed how much of AB InBev’s own capital, if any, will be pumped into the second London brewery site.
“This deal is great news for investors in Camden Town Brewery”. Camden plans on building a second brewery in London next year.
Its beers are available in over 1000 pubs, bars, restaurants and retailers across Britain, as well in Sweden, Australia and Japan.

Camden Town would “complement” AB InBev’s existing portfolio of brands, which includes lager brands Budweiser, Beck’s, Corona and Stella Artois, its European director of specialities and craft Iain Newell claimed.
