Brees’ 400th TD pass lifts Saints over Cowboys, 26-20 in OT
The Cowboys will hope that the return of Greg Hardy and Randy Gregory will solve these late game struggles. The Saints would march down field to score a 1-yard Khiry Robinson rushing touchdown giving the Saints back the lead 20-13 with just under 8 minutes left in the fourth quarter.

As Mincey walked to the team buses, he practically retraced the steps Spiller ran about an hour earlier.
“He’s got the skill set to do it. Brandon’s got a really live arm”.
It’s a good thing for them that tight end Jason Witten has superhuman healing powers, because they’re running out of options.
Overtime was required to separate the two sides, and the heroics went to Brees, who reached a milestone 400 touchdown passes when Spiller reached the end zone to give the Saints victory. But Hocker hit the football off the left upright, sending the game into overtime. Completing mostly short passes, Brees finished 33 of 41 for 359 yards and two TDs. “I wasn’t anxious about how many times I was touching the ball throughout the game”. Brandon Weeden completed passes of 24, 28 and 19 yards.
It didn’t help Dallas that injuries kept taking away Weeden’s weapons at the skill positions.
Attacking the Cowboys outside zone with impunity, Anthony made seven tackles, all of which came in the first half and helped close down a Dallas running game that opened with a 45-yard burst by Lance Dunbar. “He’s special”, receiver Brandin Cooks says of his quarterback.
According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, Dunbar is “almost certainly” gone for the season with a devastating knee injury that happened in last night’s 26-20 loss to the New Orleans Saints. The Saints are trying to avoid four straight losses to start the season and potentially fall out of playoff contention just one month into the season. Bailey was again money and Dallas regained a slim three point lead.
The second quarter devolved into an exchange of punts.
New Orleans coach Sean Payton said Ingram had the ability to replace former Saints running back Pierre Thomas as a pass-catching threat out of the backfield.
The teams then exchanged field goals.
DEVELOPING DEFENSE: The Saints are getting healthy on defense. That’s because New Orleans is about to welcome back the main cog in their machine.
Weeden has hardly been dynamic, but he’s not the sole source of blame. The Saints recovered the ball, but the officials rules that Randle had scored the Cowboys’ first TD.
Weeden actually did a bit more than that. The offensive line is still excellent, but it’s going to be a tough slog for Dallas in a competitive NFC East.
Rookie Damien Wilson replaced Lee.
Brees appeared to cap off his performance by setting up what should have been an easy game-winning kick for Zack Hocker.

However, Saints quarterback Drew Brees had the flawless antidote to Hocker’s curse. Those are ones that strengthen you and bring you together.
